All beds are now assembled using a traditional timber frame method of square mortise & tenon joinery fastened through the side of each post with hardwood pegs. The result is a rustic bed that is rock solid, easy to assemble, and impressive to look at. Now available for purchase! This is a Queen-size cedar log canopy bed with radiating open-grain yew wood rungs. This spectacular bed features curving cedar drape rods, curving cedar headboard rung that forks into a double-mortised wishbone, complete with futon supports. Unique to this design is the entry-way through the centre of the footboard yew rungs.

Commissioned to build two full bedroom sets for a local dream shaman, this bed is one of two which incorporates sacred symbolism that is personally meaningful to the client. The symbols and wave-pattern theme were worked in to each piece of the two sets, including dressers, beds, and end tables. This bed is built to be set relative to the four directions with hand-turned wooden cups on each post which hold crystals to energize and support the work of the dream shaman.

You might find a wood spirit hiding in the rings, iridescence, and other magical and fun patterns shaped by the forces of nature.
